Prompt Ten - Hannah's Corner

The following is a transcript to a video that went viral last week, uploaded to the social media account of eighteen year old Hannah Abnett. The video was a post to her popular video blog, Hannah’s Corner. The video went viral after a new post was made following a two year hiatus from the blog. Hannah, visibly unchanged from two years ago, tells the story of her strange disappearance. The authenticity of the video has since been debated. Watch the video for yourself, here.

TRANSCRIPT:

Hey, guys. Don’t suppose anyone comes to my blog anymore. Can’t say I blame you, of course. It’s been two years since my last post. Two years for you, anyway. (SNIFF) So… Let’s see, another new episode of Hannah’s Corner. As I already noted, I’m back. Don’t bother asking where I’ve been or what I’ve been up to, ‘cause – I have no idea. (SIGH) All I know is… I don’t know – it’s good to be back, I guess. I mean, there’s no place like home. But things sure have changed a lot since I got back from – well, my doctor tells me not to talk about that. So… (COUGH) Enough gloomy stuff! I’m back now and it’s time for another weekend update. You all remember Sarah, right? Well, big news for Sarah! She’s having a – get this, a baby! Apparently, she got married to Josh after graduation. They’re living upstate now and can’t wait to have their baby girl. Of course, faithful viewers to Hannah’s Corner know that Sarah has had a huge crush on Josh for, since, ever. Sarah told me that Josh asked her to prom and they’ve been together ever since.(SILENCE) So it’s great to see that they finally got together. She also told me that she is going to name her baby after me. I guess that’s since she thought I was – gone. (SIGH) Alright… What else? Okay, so my favorite boy band broke up. Not news for the rest of you, but I was pretty broken up about that. Although, now I can listen to their new album I pre-ordered. And the two after that. Um… Let’s see. Oh, Mom and Dad got a divorce. They, uh, apparently things weren’t going so good for them after I – (SILENCE) Oh, God, what am I doing? (SOB) What happened to me? What happened to my life? They tell me I’ve been gone for two years. Two years! No I haven’t! Look at me! If it were two years, wouldn’t I look older? Couldn’t I get my braces taken off? It couldn’t have been two years! How can that even happen? (SOB) I just… I can’t remember anything. I, I remember going to sleep when there was this loud humming noise that woke me up. Then… Then there was a bright flash of light through my window and then… I was walking through the woods. That’s all I remember… (INAUDIBLE)… Why can’t I remember anything?! (SOBS) Wait… (SILENCE) Wait, I remember now. Yeah, that’s right. They chose me. They said that they would come back… (SILENCE) I remember now. (LAUGHTER) I remember! (CLICK)

After the video went viral, the Abnett family has been reached out to by concerned residents of the area. So far, however, the family has refused to comment over the matter. As for Hannah herself, the county police has posted a missing persons alert for the region following yet another disappearance of the teenager.
